HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
"HOMES FROM THE HEART" PROGRAM
Realty Executives sponsors the Homes from the Heart program, which operates under Habitat for Humanity. Through volunteers and generous donations, this program provides homes for good people who need a helping hand. Felicia participated in her first home build in 2005 as part of the Realty Executives convention in Orlando, and has been continuing to help out regularly. Some photos from subsequent home builds are below. CHILD SPREE - MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S LIFE
What is Child Spree?
Each Mervyns store provides underprivileged children with brand-new school clothes and shoes. Many of these children have only worn hand-me-downs all their lives, so this opportunity helps them feel confident when they go back to school. Once a year, on an early summer morning, volunteers and children gather at our local Mervyns to help excited children pick out their new clothes, and it's a mutually rewarding experience. Please let Felicia know if you'd like to help a child by either volunteering on that special morning, or by making a donation to the next Child Spree.
UPDATE 2008 - Sadly, with Mervyns now out of business, this opportunity to serve is no longer available. I will cherish forever the many, many years I was able to donate and volunteer to this cause.
